2. Seth Jones

Seth Jones could be the guy that steps in as captain for Jonathan Toews.

Seth Jones was acquired and given a hefty contract over a long period of time. It was a bad move by Stan Bowman but now they are going to have to deal with it for a long time. They might as well give him the Captain C as he has shown the ability to be a leader on this team.

Jones is a solid defenseman that is in a very hard position right now. He needs to be better but it is hard to be an elite defenseman on a team this bad. If they improve around him a little bit, you might see him start to look like his old self.

Making a defenseman the next captain might be the move for Chicago and Jones is going to be around long enough to make it worth it.

Jones also makes the most money on the team going forward and it isn’t close. Those are normally the guys that end up stepping in and taking that type of leadership role on. He is more than capable of this job and it just might be his if the organization doesn’t give it to a youngster.
