Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles is no stranger to making a deal. Right off the bat, last year, he dealt pass rusher Khalil Mack in a trade that seems years ago now already.

He also dealt pass rusher Robert Quinn and linebacker Roquan Smith during the season, on a mission to acquire more draft capital. But, it wasn’t all about selling. The Bears have acquired Chase Claypool, D.J. Moore and a plethora of draft picks in two separate deals, as well, as Poles continues to try and revamp the roster.

Could Poles move back once more from the team’s current no. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft?

Recently, it was reported that the Baltimore Ravens are going “full contingency mode” when it comes to their quarterback position, due to the nature of the situation with Lamar Jackson. Here lies a very intriguing possibility.

The Chicago Bears could take advantage of a potentially-needy Ravens team and move back again in the 2023 NFL Draft

We examine three particular trades between Baltimore and Chicago, and the context here is that there is a quarterback on the board at no. 9, and Baltimore has lost Lamar Jackson to another franchise, thus putting them in a bind at quarterback. Trade number one is as follows.

The Bears have needed additional depth at tackle, and last year’s fourth-round pick Daniel Faalele is a mammoth of a man with plenty of potential. The Bears get a possible starter, or at least someone to compete for the job, here.

In addition, Chicago also gets the no. 22 pick in exchange for no. 9, along with a third rounder and fifth rounder this year. Next year, Baltimore sends the Bears their first and second rounder as well.

It’s a haul for Baltimore, but they’re banking on finding their franchise quarterback here, thus making a move out of desperation.
