The Chicago Cubs are moving through spring training just like everybody else. We are a week away from Opening Day so some big roster decisions need to be made soon.

There are going to be players pushing for roster spots and there are only a limited number of them to hand out to people.

In order to comply with the limitations, some good players might have to be sent to the minor leagues. There are also a few trades that the Cubs can make before spring is over.

If they wanted to go down that path, these are the three players that they could consider moving before the regular season gets underway:

1. Christopher Morel

Christopher Morel is someone that the Chicago Cubs can move for other help.

This isn’t going to be very popular but the Chicago Cubs could absolutely consider trading Christopher Morel. He is a good player that came onto the scene in 2022 but can easily be moved for help in other areas.

The Cubs may need him to play some third base but he is much better suited in the outfield where they already have a lot of people that can play the position. If they can find someone to play third base, they could probably move him now while his value is at its highest.

There are teams out there that are competing for championships that would like to add someone like this while he isn’t making a lot of money. He also hasn’t proved he is a Major Leaguer over a long period of time so moving him ahead of schedule could be smart.

It could also be a trade that bites them but if they are getting something they need more in return, it really wouldn’t be all that bad.
