The Chicago Cubs are coming off a wild off-season. They have made some amazing additions to the team that should help them win.

Dansby Swanson, Cody Bellinger, Trea Mancini, and Eric Hosmer amongst others have all had success in their careers at different points and are now trying to bring it to the north side.

Of course, they are not necessarily a favorite to win the NL Central or even to make the playoffs but they are going in with much more hope than they had to go into 2022.

Getting good players on your team is how you win more games. It sounds simple but a lot of teams don’t seem to realize that.

If the Cubs are in postseason contention by the deadline, they will keep some of their new players that are on one-year deals. If they are not, they will be active sellers at the trade deadline. This feels like a team that could win either 70 games or 90. There is a lot of unknown.

The Chicago Cubs will miss some of their old players and not some others.

Coming into the year, these new players are going to take the place of old players who are no longer with the organization. There are some that left the team during or at end of last season or while the off-season was taking place.

There are going to be players that the Cubs miss and there are going to be some that they don’t miss. Sometimes, it will depend on who you ask but there are good players that are no longer there too. These are the three that they won’t miss and the two that they will:
