Rashee Rice, SMU

Rice’s stock has been climbing amongst draft analysts. During his 2022 season at SMU, he put up 1,355 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2021, he put up 670 yards and 9 touchdowns. At 6’3 and 206 lbs, Rice is a very dynamic receiver and excels in jump ball situations. He is sneaky good after the catch, and makes people miss in space.

Rice had over 122 yards in 6 out of the 12 games he played in for Rice in 2022. His most impressive performance came in week 8 against Tulsa, where he scored 2 touchdowns and racked up a career high 180 receiving yards.

He ran an 4.51 40 yard dash with a 1.49 10-yard split. He showcased his hops as he tied for first with a 41.00’’ vertical jump.

Rice could go in the late first round or early second round. Rice would be a solid fit in Chicago. The Bears need to pick up another weapon for Fields this offseason. Adding someone like Rice to a receiver room with Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool could be dangerous. He’s got potential to be a solid receiver for years to come. Rice may not be in the Bears’ range at pick 56, but if they were to trade back from number one overall and pick up an early second, picking him is a strong possibility.
