Chicago Bears Rumors: Updated trade returns for first overall pick
By Ryan Heckman
Trade Number 2
A few days ago, there was a report that came out stating the Bears would be more likely to trade their pick to the Panthers than the Indianapolis Colts. But, Colts owner Jim Irsay has been highly vocal about his affinity for Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, making his intentions clear. He wants that pick.
If that’s the case, and he’s shown his cards, then the Colts are going to have to give up the farm. They might even have to give up more than any other team in the bidding, simply because of Irsay’s blatant comments.
In this trade, Chicago lands the Colts’ no. 4 pick in the draft this year, of course. But, they also get the Colts’ selection in the second and fifth round of this year. In addition, they get a 2024 first rounder and fourth rounder. Lastly, the Colts part with their first-round pick in 2025 as well.
In terms of overall draft value, this could end up being the most enticing deal of all, maybe outside of what the Texans have to offer in two first-round picks this year.
Still, getting an extra couple of picks this year and next year, combined with a total of three first-round selections? That’s a deal most fans would get behind.
