Time is ticking down to the start of this year’s madness, as teams are preparing for NFL free agency to begin in just a few days. For the Chicago Bears, it’s the beginning of one of the most exciting offseason in recent memory.

The Bears not only have the most cap space in the NFL, by far, but also of course own the no. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

To this point, most agree that the Bears are going to trade that pick. However, the question right now is, when? If general manager Ryan Poles has his way, he’ll wait as long as he possibly can in order to get the utmost value out of that selection.

He’s also stated that he has an idea of what he believes the Bears could get for the pick. Recently, Poles sat down with Peter King and gave us an insight as to what he believes Chicago will receive in a trade. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some updated trade packages for that coveted pick.

Trade Number 1

First up, the Carolina Panthers make a deal.

The Bears get the no. 9 overall selection in this year’s draft, plus the 40th pick from Carolina. But, that’s just the start. Then, Carolina also deals their first and second rounders in the 2024 draft, plus their first rounder in 2025.

A total of three first-round picks does the trick for Poles and the Bears, plus an additional pair of second-round picks to work with. Chicago would get some excellent players with those extra picks, but don’t put it past Poles to trade back and make those picks far more lucrative with additional talent added to the roster.

Beyond Carolina, there are three other teams constantly in the headlines when it comes to trading for this pick. Let’s take a look at them, as well.
