The Chicago Blackhawks are down to almost nothing in terms of full-time NHL players. Patrick Kane, Jake McCabe, Jack Johnson, Sam Lafferty, and Max Domi have all been traded away.

It has been clear that getting a high selection in the 2023 NHL Draft has been the goal for this franchise since last summer and that is for sure going to be the case. Are they going to win the right to take Connor Bedard or Adam Fantilli? That remains to be seen.

They will be getting a good player though. This lineup, now that it is almost completely torn down, will almost guarantee that as the final 20 or so games are played.

The trade deadline is later in the afternoon on Friday so there are still going to be some more trades left to make. The Blackhawks still have a few more trade chips that they can move to try and help themselves.

These are the three players that are left that they should still consider trading before the final buzzer of the deadline:

Connor Murphy. 5. player. 94. . D. Chicago Blackhawks

Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy might be worth it for someone.

The Chicago Blackhawks have had some good moments with Connor Murphy but it hasn’t translated to team success. It would be nice to see him go to a team where he can have some success for a long time.

He has, after this year, three more at 4.4 million. He is 29 years old so he should be a very solid player for the rest of that contract, especially on a good team.

Teams might not want to make a commitment like that since there are three extra years left but it might really help someone with that kind of window. It would relieve even more cap for Chicago so they can take on other cap hits as well to acquire picks. It is something to think about.
