The Chicago Blackhawks are still in the news because of the Patrick Kane trade. He is making his debut with them on Thursday night against the Ottawa Senators. As photos of videos emerged of him practicing in Rangers gear, the hockey world exploded.

The showtime must go on in Chicago though too. Just because Patrick Kane isn’t there anymore doesn’t mean that they can’t win big ever again. They must keep holding this thing through their decision-making.

Rebuilding is very hard in the NHL but the Blackhawks are doing a pretty good job with their big moves. Now, they need to make sure they stay on the course of the rebuild as they get to the trade deadline and beyond.

They probably don’t want to recall too many of their top forward prospects in the AHL right now. The Rockford Ice Hogs are trying to play well and the NHL club isn’t the best place to be right now if you’re trying to build your confidence.

On Thursday, the Hawks made a trade that might help them with that. They sent “future considerations” to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for forward Anders Bjork. Clearly, Chicago just needs an NHL body to eat minutes for them.

Anders Bjork was traded from the Buffalo Sabres to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bjork should be familiar with the Chicagoland area. He is from Wisconsin and attended Notre Dame. Now, he might get to play for the Chicago Blackhawks. He has only played in one NHL game this season (no points).

His career, however, hasn’t been terrible. He just hasn’t lived up to his original potential from when he first broke into the league with the Boston Bruins. He was a part of the trade that landed the Bruins Taylor Hall from the Buffalo Sabres.

Bjork should see time with the Hawks as they will play anyone at this point. They want to tank even though they’d never say they are but Connor Bedard is on their mind. We’ll see if Bjork can help them accomplish that task.
