Chicago Blackhawks: Jonathan Toews is the only one left
The greatest era in the history of the Chicago Blackhawks went on over the last decade and a half. They won the Stanley Cup three times and had multiple Hall of Fame players come through town. There was a lot of success on both a team and individual level for all of these guys.
Of course, it takes a lot to win one Cup let alone three in a short amount of time. With that, you need a core of players who do their jobs as well as anyone in the entire league. The Hawks had that for a long time and the team certainly took advantage of that.
There are a handful of players that won all three Stanley Cups with the team. Those players are Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, and Niklas Hjalmarsson. These players are some of the best in franchise history.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are the only ones still playing right now. However, Patrick Kane was traded to the New York Rangers on Tuesday. As a result, Toews is now the only one left on the Blackhawks. He is currently away from the team dealing with his illness but he is on the team.
The Chicago Blackhawks only have Jonathan Toews left from the dynasty.
He is going to try and play this season but it is unlikely that he will be traded at this point because of this. Still, after all that, the captain is the only one that remains from that big group of great players.
Sharp, Hjalmarsson, and Keith all played at least one year with another team after winning the third Cup in 2015 but Toews, Seabrook, and Hossa have not. Kane is about to.
This is a sad situation because the winning probably should have lasted even longer than it did but fans will always be grateful for that time. Now, we are just hoping to see Toews get back on the ice for a little while longer. His future is very cloudy beyond this season.
