Hugo Havelid

The Chicago Blackhawks could wait a while and then take a risk on a goalie.

There is a chance that Tyler Brennan goes late in the second round and another team that wants a goalie panics and takes Topias Leinonen shortly after. That could be anywhere from the late second round to the end of the third round.

If the Hawks want a goalie and they miss the first two, there are still plenty of other ones to consider. The best of the bunch is the second-best European goalie, Hugo Havelid. If there is a string of goalies taken at any point, Havelid is certain to be a part of it.

Havelid, as you may have heard, has a twin brother that is eligible in this draft too. Mattias Havelid is a defenseman that will be drafted at some point in the second round (maybe the third round at the latest). He is a puck-moving defenseman that is great on the power play.

Maybe the Hawks could even find a way to draft the two twins. Developing in the same organization could help them be more motivated and get the most out of them. In the case of Hugo, the Hawks should be looking at a goalie at some point so that the organizational depth is strong.

The goalie is the most important position in the sport but people will always be weird about drafting them. The Hawks are rebuilding so bringing in as many young goalies as possible is the smart thing to do until they identify that franchise guy.
