These 3 late picks could make immediate impact for the Chicago Bears

Fifth-round pick, offensive tackle Braxton Jones, could make an immediate impact for the Chicago Bears
Consider Braxton Jones as the guy who allowed Bears fans to finally breathe a sigh of relief, as he was the first of four offensive linemen drafted on Day 3 by Ryan Poles. Coming in at pick no. 168 in the fifth round, fans may initially think that Jones is a guy who will be more of a depth piece.
However, they would be wrong. Jones played his college ball at Southern Utah, where he faced lesser competition than most of the top-ranked tackles in this draft class. But, if you asked Pro Football Focus, they would tell you he’s much more than just a depth addition. Jones earned the no. 2 overall grade amongst FBS tackles last year from PFF, with a 93.9.
Jones is going to be more than just a fifth-round depth selection. The Bears currently have Larry Borom, a fifth rounder last year, as their top competition for Jones. Borom showed some promise last year, but is no where near solidified as a starter.
This summer, the competition between Jones and Borom should be intense. Do not be surprised if Jones wins that job, either. He plays with some of the best hip movement and anchor strength that you’ll see in this class. Jones’ ability to move quickly and laterally is a huge strength. He’s an athlete, running a 4.97 in his forty, too. Jones may win that starting job, and prove to be an extreme value.
