Chicago Bulls: Road trip is wrapped up with huge win in Denver

The Chicago Bulls are one impressive basketball team. They aren’t perfect and have a long way to go before the postseason begins but they are showing signs of being one of the elite teams in the NBA. With studs like Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Lonzo Ball leading the way, a very nice bench has supplemented them all the way to an 11-5 record.

On Wednesday night, they suffered a very painful loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. It was a game in which they led by 20 and then blew it to a very good Blazers team. They went into Denver knowing it was a hard place to bounce back from a terrible loss.

Well, they did it. They earned that 11th win by playing well in a very tight game with the Nuggets. They were down big pretty early in the game but managed to come all the way back and take it on the road. They had some help with Nikola Jokic out because of a wrist injury but it was still a very good win.

It wraps up a very difficult Western Conference road trip with a 3-2 record. It should also be noted that they should have gone 4-1. That bad loss to the Blazers is a tough one to swallow but there is nothing to do about it now besides learn how to prevent it from happening again.

The only loss that they were just flat-out beat was the game against the Golden State Warriors. That team looks like the best in the NBA right now and they showed the Bulls why. When the Bulls get on that level, which might not be that far away, then we can talk about NBA titles.

The most impressive part of the trip was the back-to-back at Staples Center. They swept the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers on consecutive nights and both games were pretty convincing. Outside of the small blemish in Portland, it was a very successful road trip that is also a very hard one.

The Chicago Bulls 3-2 record on this difficult road trip should really help them.

Now, the Bulls return home for the first time in a while. They will play the New York Knicks at the United Center on Sunday night which should be a lot of fun. These two teams played each other already and it was one of the most fun games of the season so far.

The Bulls missed on the game-winning buzzer-beater and lost the game by one. If they are able to repeat that performance and perhaps even build on it, they will be in great shape. This is a good team that just needs to keep doing what they are doing. The big win in Denver should help with that going forward.
