Chicago Blackhawks: Trading these 3 players could provide a boost
The Chicago Blackhawks are off to a tough start this season. At 0-2-1, they haven’t just lost games. They have looked awful in all three zones for most of all three games. There is not much structure to their game and everything looks incredibly unorganized. If they are going to start winning some games, there need to be big changes.
This isn’t a team that is expected to be bad. After making big additions like Marc-Andre Fleury, Tyler Johnson, and Seth Jones, they expected to take a big step. Jonathan Toews is also back in the mix which is like a huge boost as well but it hasn’t been enough so far. After watching the first few games, you have to start wondering about some things.
Of course, the coach and GM have both needed to be fired for a long time. Stan Bowman fired Joel Quenneville a few years ago and it hasn’t been right ever since. Now, Coach Q is down in Florida dominating while Chicago can’t get anything going. Everyone needs to go in order for there to be meaningful change to the organization.
Outside of that, there are player personnel issues as well. They play the games after all. Now, they aren’t all put in positions to succeed which is a problem in itself but that brings us back to the previous point about the coach and GM.
However, there are some players with some value that the team can trade away right now. Other teams across the league might give Chicago something worthy for certain players that are just sitting there wasting their time as healthy scratches. There are also some players in the lineup regularly that could use a change of scenery. These are the three players that the Hawks should consider trading:
