On Thursday afternoon, Chicago Bears owner George McCaskey appeared on the Waddle and Silvy Show and discussed a variety of topics. Fo the most part, George doubled-down on the ridiculous message that was put out at yesterday’s press conference. George’s attempt at damage control may have actually caused more of it.

However, he did reveal one tidbit that strongly suggests Anthony Miller‘s time in Chicago may be coming to an end sooner rather than later. Recently, I speculated that Miller is unlikely to return next season, and after listening to McCaskey’s interview, it sounds like it’s only a matter of time before that comes to fruition.

George was asked a question about the culture of the team. You may recall yesterday the team’s positive “culture” was touted as a major reason to bring Matt Nagy back. However, Marc Silverman astutely asked how good is the culture if the team had two players both get ejected this year for fighting the same player in separate games?

Of course I am referring to Javon Wims and Anthony Miller, each of whom was ejected for fighting New Orleans Saints Chauncey Gardner-Johnson.

Chicago Bears may ditch Anthony Miller

It was abundantly clear that McCaskey had a bigger problem with Miller’s actions, and said as much on the Waddle & Silvy Show. He noted that Miller was warned repeatedly before the game to refrain from being baited by Gardner-Johnson. It was also emphasized just how important Miller was to the game-plan with the absence of Darnell Mooney.

Despite all of that, Miller selfishly put his own urge above the good of the team and was tossed from a playoff game.

McCaskey was asked specifically whether Miller’s future with the team was in jeopardy because of his actions. McCaskey indicated “that is not my decision.” However, the terseness and tone of his response clearly suggested that Miller would not, in fact, be back if it were up to him.

dark. Next. The McCaskey's incompetence prevails again

We’ll have to wait this offseason to get the final verdict, but if I was Anthony Miller, I would be researching real estate agents, as it looks like his time in Chicago is coming to an end.
