After a week where Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson made headlines for his activity on Social Media, the wide receiver is poised for a monster game on Sunday.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson has had quite the week.

Robinson created a stir on Tuesday when the wide receiver removed all Bears’ references from his Social Media accounts. Shortly after his activity on Social Media, reports suggested that Robinson had requested a trade after frustration ensued over his contract extension negotiations.

Robinson did speak with Reporters on Wednesday and it appears that the wide receiver is ready to move past his activity on Social Media and focus on the Bears’ game against the New York Giants this upcoming Sunday.

"“It’s about playing with these guys, playing for coach Nagy. That never really has shifted. It’s my job to go out there and play well on Sundays and help my offense and help my team get better every week and win games.”-Allen Robinson via Chicago Sun Times"

That is indeed the next step for the Bears and Robinson as they attempt to move past the week that was by playing on Sunday against the Giants. And to quote the great WWE personality Paul Heyman, the next statement is not a prediction, rather it is a spoiler. That spoiler being that Robinson is going to have a monster game for the Bears on Sunday.

More from Chicago Bears

Outside of having his teammates flood Twitter with the #ExtendAR trend, the best thing that Robinson can do is prove on the field that not only is he the Bears’ primary wide receiver but that he is an elite wide receiver in the National Football League. That campaign for Robinson will start on Sunday against the Giants.

The Giants are the perfect team for Robinson to line up against given the recent success he has had against the NFC East opponent.

Look no further than what Robinson did against the Giants during the Bears’ Week 11 victory in the 2019 NFL Regular Season. In that game, Robinson compiled 131 receiving yards and 1 touchdown on 6 receptions.

Expect for Robinson to put up similar numbers for the Bears on Sunday. There is saying in sports that big time players make big time plays in big time moments. This is a big time moment for Robinson as all eyes will be on him given the week that he has had off the field.

Robinson, through this point in his tenure with the Bears, has outperformed the three-year, $42 million contract that he signed with the team in 2017. After talking the talk with reporters and social media this past week, Robinson will prove on Sunday that it is time that he receives a contract that is more lucrative than his original deal with the Bears and rightfully anoints him as an elite wide receiver in the NFL.
