Trade 3

Of course, there had to be a deal in which the Bulls gave it everything they had to acquire Giannis. This deal is intriguing because, while the Bulls would give up quite a bit, it may not be enough to land a player of Giannis’ caliber in a normal scenario.

But, this isn’t a normal scenario. The Bucks would have to know they are going to see Giannis walk at the end of next year, or maybe there’s an inkling he would like a trade. Regardless, the Bulls go all-in on attempting to land the superstar in hopes that they can make the right pitch to persuade him to stay in Chicago long-term.

After landing Giannis in this deal, Chicago’s core would be he, Coby White and Wendell Carter Jr. At that point, Karnisovas would have to do his best job at recruiting free agents in the future to surround Giannis with more talent.

Why would he want to stay in Chicago? Obviously, it is a bigger market. But, Karnisovas along with Eversley and company would give him every assurance that they were going to build a championship contender. There would also likely need to be a feeling that the Bulls could land another top-tier free agent.

In this case, Giannis could try pulling off what many stars do by chatting with other soon-to-be free agents regarding the opportunity to play together. Let’s say Giannis and a guy like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Victor Oladipo or Chris Paul wanted to team up. All four of those guys have the potential to be free agents in 2021, some due to player options.

If Giannis and one of those fellow stars wanted to play together, you could add them to White and Carter and have a true contender in the East.
