player. 9. . LF. Chicago Cubs. Kyle Schwarber. 12

The Chicago Cubs and their fans owe a lot to Kyle Schwarber. He was brilliant for them in the 2016 World Series and he made such an effort to get there after recovering and rehabbing from a terrible injury. He was awesome in his return and it led to the first World Series title for the team in 108 years. The only problem for the Cubs is that they should have traded him to another team for max return after winning that series.

Since then, he has gone on to be a good hitter. He never became the next “Babe Ruth-like hitter” that people were saying he would be after he was drafted by the Cubs but he is certainly a great player. His catching career never amounted to anything so they starting using him in left field. He was pretty brutal defensively to begin his career but has since improved a lot in that part of his game.

If the Cubs moved on from Schwarber before this year’s trade deadline, they wouldn’t get the package in return that they would have a few years ago but they should still get something of value back in return. He is still a guy who can change a game with his bat and drive in runs so that might be valuable to a team that needs some help in the outfield. A good match for him would be the Cleveland Indians because they need an outfielder and have a surplus of pitching which the Cubs need desperately. If they don’t move him this weekend or Monday, don’t be surprised if it happens in the offseason.
