Chicago Bears: 2021 NFL Mock Draft

4. Round Five, Pick 142: OT Cordell Volson, North Dakota State
Charles Leno Jr. and Bobby Massie aren’t getting any younger and besides Cody Whitehair, the Bears really don’t have any proven options on the offensive line. At some point during the 2021 NFL Draft, pulling the trigger on an offensive lineman.
One of the more intriguing offensive lineman prospects, Volson could very well return to school in 2021, simply because North Dakota State isn’t likely to play football in the Fall. However, if he does declare, he’s a name that could end up being a nice development piece for the Bears.
There’s two qualities that stick out about Volson. First, he’s always willing to be tough and bring a nasty mindset when taking on defensive lineman. Something that the Bears offensive line needs. Second, Volson has a never-say-die attitude. On tape, his willingness to finish each and every rep is clearly on display.
While the Bears offensive line could improve substantially in 2020, adding to the offensive line should still be a priority next offseason. Whether it’s adding some quality depth or a future starter, the best teams in the NFL continue to invest in the offensive line, no matter how much depth they may have.
