Chicago Bears: 2021 NFL Mock Draft
By Usayd Koshul
2. Round Two, Pick 47: TE Brevin Jordan, Miami
Yup, another luxury pick, however the 2021 tight end class is one of the best in recent years. While the Bears drafted Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet in the 2020 NFL Draft, spending a second-round pick on a tight end in back-to-back years isn’t a bad idea.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who run a similar offense to the Bears, have provided a blueprint for how two tight end sets can function effectively in the system that head coach Matt Nagy is trying to build.
Brevin Jordan will enter the 2020 college football season as one of the top three players ranked at the tight end position. Jordan has the ability to be a mismatch weapon and is someone who can be effective down the seam and in the middle of the field.
Jordan’s route running could use some work. If he’s going to become a more complete tight end at the next level, being able to run routes and create separation will be two points of emphasis for him. Athletic ability will only get you so far in the NFL.
