1. Round One, Pick 15: WR DeVonta Smith, Alabama

Let’s just say that Anthony Miller breaks out in 2020 and the Bears bring back Allen Robinson, then wide receiver won’t be a need in 2021. However, Alabama is set to send a trio of wide receivers to the NFL next year and DeVonta Smith.

In the NFL, you can never have too many playmakers and adding Smith to a wide receiver core that could feature Robinson, Miller, and 2020 fifth-round pick Darnell Mooney would only add explosiveness and speed to the Bears offense.

Listed at just 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Smith will need to add some strength to his frame before he gets to the next level, however, his junior season that saw him catch 68 passes for 1256 yards, and 14 touchdowns shows that he’s got the potential to develop into a big-play weapon at the next level.

Overall, while some will say that this is a luxury pick, you can never have too many good wide receivers on the roster and the Bears would be wise to continue to add playmakers while the franchise figures out a long-term solution to the quarterback position.
