Chicago Cubs: Three players to trade when roster unfreezes

The day that the Chicago Cubs trade Kris Bryant is going to be a tough pill to swallow for the fans of this team. They manipulated his service time so they can keep him an extra year and they might end up trading him anyway. He is one of the most impactful players that the franchise has ever had and they are probably going to trade him away for pennies on the dollar.

There are some people out there that believe that if COVID-19 didn’t exist, he would have been traded by now. That might be a fair thought based on a few things. People inside the organization have made it clear that he has been offered extensions that were turned down and then claimed weren’t by Bryant. There are also a lot of teams out there that probably feel that they are a Kris Bryant-type player away from winning the World Series.

All of these factors make it seem like he could be a guy that is gone one of these days. It could come after the rosters are unfrozen, it could come before the trade deadline, and it could come in the offseason but it certainly looks like the Cubs are going to be forced to move on from him here soon.
