3. RB Tarik Cohen

Another player who regressed in 2019, Tarik Cohen could very well be heading into his final season with the Bears. He’s set to be a free agent in 2021 and so far, has had just one really solid season, which was in 2018.

2019 saw Cohen, a dual-threat weapon, regress to the point where he averaged just 5.8 yards per reception. Compare this to his 10.2 yards per reception in 2018 and it’s clear that Cohen needs to turn it around if he wants to land another contract with the Bears.

But here’s the issue: If Cohen is going to turn things around in 2020, then he’ll need to do it as a receiver because the Bears rushing attack will be led by David Montgomery, who’s one of the teams most important pieces on offense right now.

In a contract year, if Cohen does manage to turn things around, the Bears will end up negotiating an extension with him in 2021, however, if not, he’ll leave via free agency and it’ll be up to the front office to find his replacement during the 2021 NFL Draft.
