Quarterback

If the 2020 season is played, we have no idea who will be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears. According to the organization, there is a true quarterback competition between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. Not everyone believes it is going to be a truly fair competition but that is what they are claiming. Trubisky was one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL during the 2019 season so they brought in Nick Foles to help them.

No matter who it is under center at any point this season, they need help. There are some good receiving options with a guy like Allen Robinson or their newly drafted tight end Cole Kmet amongst others. Well, none of that will matter if the running game isn’t a threat. The rushing attack has the power to open things up for the rest of the offense if they could just get going. The offensive line is a big problem but they need a well-proven runner as well.

If Devonta Freeman came in and was good at his job, Mitchell Trubisky or Nick Foles would have an easier time moving the ball. It certainly wouldn’t be the end all be all for them but he would have a chance to help them big time. If the Bears can do anything to help the quarterback just a little bit, they should explore that option. They should be feeling desperate to get this team in the playoffs at this point.
