Chicago Bears: 5 value free agents still available

Running Back Devonta Freeman
Running backs just don’t get paid like they used to. Their careers don’t last like they used to — both of these factors could work in the Bears’ favor.
With the Falcons moving on from Devonta Freeman, he would certainly offer a competitive team a nice compliment in the back field. The Bears would be a great fit, in my opinion.
David Montgomery is the starter, obviously. But, adding a strong compliment who also catches the ball well would make for a dynamite one-two punch. At this point in his career, Freeman has to know he is nothing more than a compliment and I’m sure he is fine with that.
I have also been an advocate for the Bears trading Tarik Cohen, because he isn’t quite what the Bears thought he would be after his first two years. Last season, he took a step back and seemed more hesitant.
Freeman would give Chicago an experienced, multi-dimensional back to pair alongside Montgomery. Adding him would be a Super Bowl type of move. This roster would be bolstered significantly.
