Chicago Bears: 5 value free agents still available
By Ryan Heckman
Wide Receiver Travis Benjamin
The Bears have lots of talent at the wide receiver position. The youth they have there is incredible, too. Allen Robinson should be around for a long time. Anthony Miller finally appears to be breaking out, as the end of his 2019 season saw him play his best football since joining the Bears two years ago.
Javon Wims and Riley Ridley each hold their own strengths and help add some different elements to the group as well. But, where the Bears are lacking is in the speed department.
With letting go of Taylor Gabriel, due to cap reasons, Chicago is now in need of one more wideout who can take the top off defenses. Fortunately, Travis Benjamin is still out there and that’s exactly what he specializes in. Benjamin’s career average in yards per reception is at 15.1, with four seasons over 16.0.
This year’s receiving class is deep, but the Bears are limited on picks and Benjamin would round out the receiving room perfectly.
