68. . D. Philadelphia Flyers. Kimmo Timonen. 4. player

Kimmo Timonen was one of those special players that were a local legend in two spots. He started his career with the Nashville Predators and played eight great seasons with them. Then, he went to the Philadelphia Flyers where he would have some more success. Timonen was a part of that 2009-10 Philadelphia Flyers team that was defeated by the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Final.

Timonen was a great player for both organizations during his time. Then, at the trade deadline of his final season, the Chicago Blackhawks added him for some depth on the blue line. He wasn’t the same old Timonen that we were used to seeing in his younger days but he was some help behind the big four of Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Niklas Hjalmarsson, and Johnny Oduya.

Well, it was a storybook ending for Timonen as he was, in fact, able to lift the Stanley Cup to end his career. It was one of the more beautiful moments in NHL history as Jonathan Toews took the Cup from Gary Bettman and skated it right over to Timonen. A long career that was just missing one thing was finally fulfilled. Seeing Timonen in a Blackhawks jersey was weird but it had an incredible ending.
