Chicago Bears News: 4 free agent running backs who fit
By Ryan Heckman
1. DeAndre Washington
As one of the more underrated options on the free agent market this year, I am sure DeAndre Washington won’t get as much attention as some guys. However, I think his skillset is perfect for the Bears, especially as a complimentary back.

The Raiders’ attention might be on other positions and names this offseason, specifically Tom Brady, but they’d be smart to bring back Washington.
If they don’t, I’d love to see him in a Bears uniform on a cheaper deal.
The 26-year-old is a former fifth-round pick out of Texas Tech back in 2016 and enters the free agent market as a dual-threat type of back. In both 2017 and 2019, he was used on occasion and came up with more than 30 receptions each season. When used, Washington is more than a capable complimentary back.
He’s had to compete for time over the last few seasons, though, with guys like Jalen Richard, Doug Martin, Marshawn Lynch and most recently Josh Jacobs.
Washington has eight total touchdowns over his career, averaging 4.0 yards per carry on the ground and 7.0 yards per receptions. Most impressively, Washington boasts a catch percentage of 80 percent.
