2. Offensive Line

Another position that regressed considerably in 2019, the right side of the Bears offensive line may end up looking different in 2020. Rashaad Coward has proven he’s too inconsistent to be a starting right guard and still a work in progress while Bobby Massie was injured which led to Cornelius Lucas starting down the stretch.

The Bears need to figure the offensive line out, not just for 2020 but for the long-run as well. The Bears appear as if they are set to move on from Kyle Long this offseason while Massie enters his 30s and is likely gone after the 2020 season.

As of right now, there are two players who come to mind when it comes to addressing right guard and right tackle: Tyler Biadasz and Mekhi Becton. Biadasz, who has primary experience playing as an interior offensive lineman has been labeled as being the best interior offensive lineman in the upcoming draft. He’s a guy who will have an impact immediately in both pass protection as well as run blocking.

Becton, on the other hand, figured to be an offensive tackle at the next level. He’s got great feet and features excellent length. During his time at the University of Louisville, another thing that popped out on tape was his athleticism and excellent technique.

Overall, either Becton or Biadasz would help the Bears out tremendously. Not only will both be long-term building blocks but they will also improve the Bears running game which will then help open up the rest of the offense.
