Bulls: These players make the game exciting despite record
Coby White
This guy’s hair might be the main reason I love watching him play. It seems to get bigger and bigger by the minute. Coby White is coming off the bench but still logging some serious minutes. I love his explosiveness and tempo. He is a scoring machine but needs to be more consistent in his shot attempts and shot selection.
In his game against the Pacers, he played nearly 24 minutes but only scored one point. He missed all six of his shots and one of his free-throw attempts. He needs to play better than this on a consistent level. He followed that game up though with 18 points on 15 shot attempts. When his shot is on point, White can score. If not, he seems to be as cold as ice.
He is young though and I think he will develop nicely. He has shown flashes that make me think he could turn into a solid NBA player who pushes for stardom. Then again, he also shows some horrible shot selections that make me think he’ll never be better than the sixth man.
Throughout the first nine games, White has four double-digit scoring games and five in single digits. He is averaging 11 shot attempts per game this year. I like that amount, but I want to see him make his shots more regularly.
Once he settles down I think we will see the White we saw towards the end of the preseason. If he can become more consistent, I think White cracks the starting lineup closer to the midway point of the year and will push for a few Rookie of the Year votes. He will not win, but I think he gets a few votes due to his scoring abilities. I am excited to watch White play and follow his career in the NBA.
