Lauri Markkanen

Another guy I am excited to watch game in and game out is Lauri Markkanen. Markkanen is not as flashy as Zach LaVine, but he is an exciting young NBA player who has the potential to be an All-Star in this league.

Last season, Markkanen was averaging over 18 points per game. That number has dipped slightly to 15 points per game this season. That said, just like LaVine, I think that number sees an increase as the team settles into their roles more this year. At 18 points per game, heck at even 15 points per game, Markkanen is a solid second option on this team.

He is a better defender than LaVine, but not quite as good of a scorer as LaVine. Markkanen can still make shots from anywhere on the court, but I like to see him keep working on his inside game. At 7’0″ and 240lbs, Markkanen should not be allowing anyone to push him around underneath the basket. He has done better with that this year as he put on more weight in the offseason.

Markkanen might be the number two option on this team, but he is not my number two. After Zach LaVine, my favorite Bulls player this year might have the best hair in the NBA.
