Chicago Bears: 3 trade rumors that will not come true
By Ryan Heckman
Dealing for Kenyan Drake
I have to talk about Kenyan Drake because a certain outlet, famous for their hot takes and click-desired motives, published a piece about this guy. The particular article stated that the Bears were a “perfect spot” for Drake to land, based on comments from NFL.com’s Marc Sessler.

I respect Sessler a lot, and love his work. But, I don’t understand this idea whatsoever.
The Bears have three solid running backs already in David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen and Mike Davis. There is no need to waste draft capital on another running back, let alone a player of Drake’s caliber.
Nothing against him, but I do not believe Drake is anything more than a mediocre player at best.
Put it this way: If you’re finding yourself getting pushed down the depth chart on a team like the Miami Dolphins, you’re not exactly a coveted trade target. Don’t get me wrong; he could very well be dealt to the right team, but the Bears aren’t a running back-needy team.
The problem in Chicago is the lack of establishing the run, not any one back’s ability to run the ball. The offensive line has been bad. The play calling has been worse. Adding Drake would do nothing to help those facts.
