With the NFL trade deadline approaching, a few rumors have been spread regarding the Chicago Bears.

I get it, folks. I really do. The Chicago Bears have been under much scrutiny as of late, and most of it has been justified. At 3-3, the Bears have underachieved in the eyes of many. We heard all offseason about the “defensive regression” narrative, but instead of that particular story coming true, it’s been on the other side of the ball.

Sure, the Bears haven’t been stout on defense. But, it’s been difficult for that unit to play at a high level for an entire game due to the offense not sustaining drives. Chicago’s offense ranks near the bottom of the league in just about every major category, and head coach Matt Nagy has a lot of fans questioning him right about now.

The Week 7 matchup against the New Orleans Saints was most troubling. After coming off a bye week, the Bears stumbled their way through a home game against a backup quarterback and backup running back. The offense was abysmal.

By abysmal, I mean at its lowest point since Nagy took over as head coach — and he was the main reason behind the performance. The Bears ran the ball a whopping seven times all game, which was good for the fewest rushing attempts by any Bears team in a single game, in the history of the franchise.

Mitchell Trubisky has had his issues, as well, but now is not the time for that discussion. The NFL trade deadline is just days away now, and many wonder whether or not the Bears will make a move to prove they are still serious about winning it all this year.

Will they end up dealing? They might. But, for who? That’s the real question. At the moment, there are plenty of people talking. Some of them have no basis for the rumors in which they spread. The following three trade scenarios will not and should not happen.
