Young Kane Off The Ice

Patrick Kane is an NHL superstar. He is one of the best players in the league and one of the top three Blackhawks of all time. He has been elite for a long time and won everything there is to win. He has 356 goals and 582 assists for 938 points in 903 games and is only 30. He is going to go down as the greatest American born player of all time and walk into the Hall of Fame.

That is all nice and dandy, but things didn’t go very smooth for Kane early on his career. He walked into the league and dominated right away as he won the Calder Trophy as the leagues top rookie. It was all off the ice for Kane. There are two major things that happened to Kane off the ice that was just straight-up weird, especially for an NHL player.

On August 9th, 2009, Kane and his cousin James were arrested in Buffalo New York for punching cab driver Jan Radecki. He was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and theft of services. They both pleaded not guilty in court and were given conditional discharges and avoided any penalties if they stay out of trouble for a year and apologize to Radecki.

On August 6th, 2015, Kane was the subject of a sexual assault investigation on an incident that took place a week prior. It came out later that there would be no charges on Kane as the so-called evidence was tampered with. There was nothing to come of it since the courts declared Kane innocent. Kane was a confusing process off the ice as he always seemed to find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, but nothing too bad has come from it.
