1. Best addition in free agency: RB Mike Davis

This is honestly one of the more under-the-radar moves the Bears made this offseason. While everyone seems to be talking about David Montgomery and how he’s going to take the Bears starting running back job, Mike Davis might just be the starter come week one.

There’s a lot to like about Davis. At first, his signing may have raised some eyebrows amongst Bears fans, however, the Bears brought him in on relatively cheap deal because he was a perfect fit for Matt Nagy’s offense.

Considering the Bears are going to be using a running back by committee approach, it’s fair to expect Tarik Cohen to be a factor in the passing game. This would mean that Davis and Montgomery would be the guys who would get a majority of carries in the backfield.

In 2018, as a member of the Seattle Seahawks, Davis had 514 rushing yards, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He was also a factor in the passing game with 34 receptions, averaging 6.3 yards per catch.

Overall, Davis is clearly the best addition the Bears made in free agency. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix comes in at a close second, but Davis will perhaps be the most underrated player on the Bears offense in 2019.
