Last week, star NBA forward Anthony Davis said he’d be open to playing for the Chicago Bulls in the future. Here are three reasons why that won’t happen.

The Chicago Bulls didn’t make big splashes with trades or free-agent signings this offseason, but they’ve made some decent adds for roster depth. Meanwhile, the rest of the NBA shifted dramatically with multiple superstars moving to new teams.

One of those superstars is Chicago native Anthony Davis, a forward that was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans and played there for seven seasons before demanding a trade last season.

Davis played sparingly for the Pelicans after he demanded a trade, and the team couldn’t get a deal done by last year’s trade deadline. However, the Lakers used this offseason to basically restructure their entire roster to add Davis.

Davis was traded to LA to play alongside superstar LeBron James, who signed with the Lakers as a free agent last season. This dynamic duo is among a number of superstar pairs that will shine in the NBA next season.

Last weekend, Davis was back in his hometown for a Nike basketball camp and sat down for an interview after the basketball activities were finished. Davis left the door open for coming back to Chicago, but he may have just cracked the door a bit.

While it’s unrealistic that the Bulls would get a player the caliber of Davis to sign as a free agent, the mere possibility of a superstar being open to signing is exciting for Bulls fans.

It would be incredible to see Davis come home to Chicago and play in a Bulls uniform. While it’s possible, here are three reasons Davis signing with the Bulls is highly unlikely. And for once, none of them really involve GarPax.
