Chicago Bears: 10 players facing important training camp
By Ryan Heckman
Anthony Miller
The Bears have made a habit out of trading up over the last few drafts, and Anthony Miller was the prized pick which Pace moved up for a year ago. Last year, Miller led the Bears in receiving touchdowns with seven over his rookie campaign.
The talk all offseason long has been about Miller playing his first season as a pro “with one arm” after dealing with a shoulder injury all year in 2018. If Miller was able to do some of the things he did last year without being fully healthy, I can’t wait to see what he’ll do this season.
Over the course of training camp, he’s one I’ll be watching to see just how healthy he looks. Will he be one Nagy chooses to sit out occasionally due to health concerns or simply a few “rest” days? Veterans typically get those days throughout camp, but not second-year players.
If Miller is able to practice throughout camp at 100 percent, fans should be more excited than ever to see him suit up. One big reason why Miller has to have a strong camp and an even stronger 2019 season is because I believe the Bears could be looking to save some cash next season — and that means Allen Robinson might be fair game to cut loose.
He and rookie Riley Ridley might just be the future at the position, along with Wims. But, it all begins in camp.
