Trade no. 3: Acquire assets from Charlotte Hornets

John Paxson has said numerous times that this franchise is in the business of acquiring assets. If they see potential to grab a good player just a few spots later in the first round, maybe they pull the trigger on a deal with a team like the Charlotte Hornets.

First off, the Hornets may end up losing Kemba Walker to free agency. He’s been with that franchise his entire career, and they could offer him the most money this summer.

However, at this point, maybe he opts to take a bit less in effort to have a shot at a championship. If that’s the case, the Hornets need a replacement. Maybe at no. 7, the Hornets are the ones to take White and keep him close to Chapel Hill.

For the Bulls, they’d move back five spots but also acquire a very early second-rounder this season. In the process, they would send back a future second-rounder which is top-50 protected. If the Bulls don’t completely wet the bed, they’ll likely keep that pick.

Last, the Bulls also build some additional depth in the front court by acquiring Frank Kaminsky in the deal. He would give the team a strong option off the bench to relieve either Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter.
