Inside Linebacker Adarius Taylor

While the Bears have a lot of talent at inside linebacker, it’s never too early for the team to plan for the future as they have some decisions to make after next season.

Inside linebackers Danny Trevathan and Nick Kwiatkoski will both be unrestricted free agents after next season, and the team will have to decide if they want to keep either one of defenders.

If the team is leaning more towards letting one or both of their inside linebackers walk, it may be wise to have a replacement waiting in the wings.

Buccaneers linebacker Adarius Taylor really stepped up last season after starting the season on the bench. He was a replacement for the injured Kwon Alexander and stood out after the team lost its defensive leader for the year.

Taylor was nothing more than a rotational player at one point but could excel under the guidance of a leader like Trevathan. He’s a more versatile backup than Kwiatkoski is now, and the team may move on from him if they think Taylor is a better fit.

It’s not clear whether or not the Bears will try and find a replacement for inside linebacker a year early, but this front office has had worse ideas.
