Chicago Bears: Teams that could trade for Jordan Howard
By Ryan Heckman
New York Jets
Look at all of these teams with young quarterbacks who the team has invested so much into drafting. This is a new era in the NFL, and the teams that build around their young gunslingers the fastest are going to be the ones who pay dividends the soonest. It’s that simple.
New York Jets first-year head coach Adam Gase has a connection to Chicago, being a former offensive coordinator. I wonder if that would make negotiations a little easier and more comfortable for Pace.
The Jets need to do something at running back. Many wonder if they will go after Le’Veon Bell this offseason. They have no true answer at the running back position right now, with Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell being free agents.
A couple of picks in the third round could make it easier to part with one. I wonder if a third-round pick for Howard, straight up, would be enough for Pace to part with Howard. The Bears wouldn’t make it into the first two rounds, but it would give Pace an interesting situation, having two picks in the third round. It could make strategizing for that round a little easier on him.
