2018 Chicago Bears 53-man roster prediction version 1.0

Special Teams
Cody Parkey
One of my favorite signings this offseason was none other than kicker Cody Parkey. I am not quite sure if the Bears just got lucky having him fall into their lap, but Parkey is now on his fourth team and has done nothing but make kicks since entering the league in 2014.
If his health is intact, Parkey is a phenomenal kicker. The only season in which he missed a good amount of time was his second year back in 2015 with the Philadelphia Eagles. Otherwise, he’s been solid. His career 86.4 accuracy percentage is something I’m excited about, especially with him coming off a career season with the Miami Dolphins in which he was at 91.3.
Pat O’Donnell
Could the Bears do better at punter? Sure. Could they do worse? Sure. The fact of the matter is, Pat O’Donnell is serviceable and familiar, so they brought him back. Let’s see what he can do this season in terms of changing our minds for the better, and maybe securing a longer contract. If he fails to do so, then the Bears will be in the market in 2019.

Patrick Scales
Patrick Scales played pretty well prior to last season when he suffered a torn ACL. Now that he’s healthy, he’ll be back and ready to go as the team’s long-snapper.
