Chicago Bears: 5 Reasons to be all in on Richard Sherman

Many teams have a very good cornerback on their roster. But, how many teams can say they have a pair of great cornerbacks? That shaves it down quite a bit.
Once again, with it looking like Fuller is staying in Chicago for at least 2018, if not longer, the Bears could pair him with arguably the best cornerback in all of football in Sherman.
Fuller took huge strides in 2017, finishing as Pro Football Focus’ 22nd ranked corner out of a possible 120. While 22nd is not as impressive of a number as it might seem, Fuller didn’t always fill up the box score with numbers that tell a story.
Fuller became a lot like Sherman last year. He was as aggressive as I have ever seen him since coming into the league. Fuller played with tenacity, not shying away from an open-field tackle — even if it was up against the 6-foot-5, 245-pound Cam Newton.
Not only did he play visibly tougher in 2017, but Fuller took a page out of Sherman’s book and began talking a bit more than usual. To some, it rubs them the wrong way. For me, I love it. The Bears need more of those personalities on defense.
Fans today want to talk a lot about the 1985 Bears defense, but forget that they were chock full of personalities. Just a couple of those wouldn’t hurt the current team — especially a guy like Sherman.
The bottom line is this: The Bears need to be all-in on Sherman when he hits the market. If they scoop him up quickly, it will make the rest of their offseason go even smoother — not to mention, it’ll make their defense that much better.
