Where should the wide receivers potentially available via free agency or trade this offseason rank priority-wise for the Chicago Bears?

Figuring out the wide receiver position is easily the most important and intriguing thing about this Chicago Bears offseason.

Watching lineups of Kendall Wright and Josh Bellamy try to win one-on-one matchups all day and begging for Tre McBride to play more was a pretty painful experience. Let’s not repeat that again, shall we?

Part of that involves not trying to trust Cameron Meredith and oft-injured Kevin White to be your top receivers. When one (or both) succumbs to injury, you see how that goes.

No, the Bears must upgrade big time and give Mitch Trubisky the weapons he needs to become an elite quarterback. Combine that with the implementation of Matt Nagy’s new offense, and we might be cooking with gas this year.

Naturally, of course, Bears fans have many different ideas as to how best to improve the receiver room. And as with everything, people get set on their one guy and that’s it: everyone else is a bad move.

That’s not the way this works.

However, some options may still be more practical, as well as more productive, than others. As such, I’m going to take a stab at ranking the best receiver options the Chicago Bears can pursue in free agency and trade.

Also, let’s get this out of the way: the Bears should try to sign Albert Wilson no matter what.

He would fit in brilliantly as a third or fourth option, and it makes too much sense not to bring him in. So, 1. I’m not including him on this list, and 2. stop complaining about the Bears potentially wanting to sign him.

Okay, on to the list.
