One Chicago media individual believes that the Bears will indeed use the tag on their coveted free agent cornerback.
If you have been following the Chicago Bears over the last week, you are aware that there are plenty of free agency scenarios coming into play. Tuesday, the Bears announced they were releasing former Pro Bowlers Jerrell Freeman and Josh Sitton, and by doing so, they freed up just about $10 million in cap space.
The absolute biggest story over the course of last week has been whether or not cornerback Kyle Fuller will hit free agency. The Bears have the option to place the franchise tag on Fuller, of course, and that’s exactly what the rumor is at the moment.
According to Danny Parkins from 670 The Score, Fuller is likely to get the tag soon.
I expect Ryan Pace to franchise tag Kyle Fuller but I'd let him hit the open market and tell his agent 'see what's out there, we want Kyle back on a multi-year deal, give us a chance to match or top your best offer' and if they sign before you get the chance, so be it.

Fuller had an up and down rookie season with the Bears in 2014. His highlight came when he picked off two passes against the San Francisco 49ers during a primetime game in which the Bears won in improbable fashion.
The next two seasons were mediocre at best for the former Virginia Tech product. It almost seemed as though once the Bears declined his fifth year option last year that he was on his way out.
Then, somehow, Fuller turned it around in a big way. In 2017, we saw a much more aggressive player out of Fuller. He played his best football last year and is well on his way to a big contract, one way or another.

Fuller is an absolute must for the Bears to re-sign at this point, and Pro Football Focus agrees. They dubbed him as one that Chicago cannot let go.
If Parkins is correct, the fans in Chicago have nothing to worry about. If it was up to Jason La Canfora, though, he is as good as gone. But, we all know how La Canfora’s luck with the Bears has gone in recent years. Fuller should be back with the Bears and all will be right in the world once again.
