Wide Receiver: Scotty Washington

Scotty Washington may only have 17 catches on the season for a Demon Deacons offense that does not pass the ball much, but he will likely have a big week against the Fighting Irish. With leading receiver Greg Dortch being ruled out by the Deacons with an abdominal injury, Washington will likely look to feast downfield.

On the season he has 339 yards, on only the 17 catches. That equals out to an average of just under 20 yards per catch. Top cornerback Shaun Crawford will probably draw the coverage of Scotty Washington, depending on the coverage that the Fighting Irish choose to go with on a play by play basis.

Wake Forest has been a surprise team this season, so far with a 5-3 record that not many people expected, even those who dreamed the biggest. Part of the reason for the teams success has been the play of quarterback John Wolford, who has been one of the best quarterbacks in all of the ACC.

As a fourth year senior, Wolford is currently having the best season of his collegiate career. Having thrown for over 1600 yards, with 4 games to go, he will likely set a career high. He also has thrown for 15 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions, and an unbelievable 9.17 yards per attempt.
