Complete game details for the Week 5 matchup between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

The Chicago Bears are coming off a brutal loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. The good news is that the new Chicago Bears’ starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky has 11 days to prepare for his match-up with the Minnesota Vikings.

His presence in the huddle will come as a breath of fresh air for the fan base and the guys in that locker room. I am sure that the players on defense are tired of being on the field the entire game and being put in short fields.

The Chicago Bears’ wide receivers want to make plays. They now have a chance to actually accumulate some statistics.

For example, in the win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, one wide receiver caught a pass from Mike Glennon. It was a nine-yard catch by Deonte Thompson. All of that is about to change, with Trubisky at the helm.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Chicago Bears will look to apply pressure to either Case Keenum or Sam Bradford. The Vikings loss of running back Dalvin Cook is a huge loss. Considering that Nick Kwiatkoski, Jerrell Freeman and Danny Trevathan will miss the game, it will be easier for John Timu and Christian Jones to slow down Jerick McKinnon and Latavius Murray.

More from Chicago Bears

The secondary will need to provide good coverage on Monday night. Vikings’ wide receivers Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs have already combined for 46 receptions. Also, their tight end Kyle Rudolph is a Pro Bowler.

The ability of Trubisky to run bootlegs and throw passes downfield, will open up running lanes for Howard and Cohen to exploit.
