Let’s take a look at some of the major takeaways from the Chicago Bears 17-9 win over the Tennessee Titans in the third week of the preseason.

The Chicago Bears came away from their third preseason game with a 19-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans to improve to 2-1. One team looked drastically better than the other team, and it was not the Tennessee Titans, which is a team picked by many analysts to play very well this year.

The Chicago Bears got the scoring started with a beautiful 15 play, 96-yard drive that took 7:52 off of the clock in the first quarter. It was capped by a one-yard touchdown throw by Mike Glennon to tight end Dion Sims.

In the second quarter, defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris blocked a punt near the goal-line. The football went out of the back of the end zone, which resulted in a safety. Tennessee Titans’ kicker Ryan Succop missed a 40-yard field goal, which would have made the score 9-3. Right before halftime, Connor Barth hit a 41-yard field goal to make it 12-0.

In the fourth quarter, Derrick Henry capped off an 11 play drive (that started in the third quarter) with a three-yard touchdown run. That made the score 12-7. The Chicago Bears immediately responded with a gorgeous 45-yard touchdown strike from rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky to fellow rookie Tanner Gentry. That made the score 19-7, which turned out to be the final score of the game.

Now, let’s dive into how specific players and units performed with the major takeaways from the game.
