The Chicago Bears do not hold their third-round selection in the 2018 draft. It was used as part of the trade up to acquire Trubisky. However, they do have an extra fourth-round pick that they acquired from the Arizona Cardinals in a trade down scenario in the 2017 draft. First, let’s look at the player who they acquired with their own fourth-round selection.

The Chicago Bears have a lot of bodies at cornerback. However, they have struggled to find actual impact players at the position. I like Marcus Cooper as a long-term piece for the team and slot cornerbacks Cre’von LeBlanc and Bryce Callahan are rock-solid. But the Bears will likely have to find a replacement for Prince Amukamara after the season, as he only signed a one-year free agent contract.

Someone like Deiondre’ Hall could step up and take on a starting role, but the Bears would be wise to at least consider adding someone else to the mix. M.J. Stewart is an extremely active and athletic cornerback prospect who shows a lot of upside at the position.

Stewart is tough and feisty at the line of scrimmage and does a fantastic job in press coverage. He is also a quick player who can keep up with speed at the wide receiver position. Stewart does not show elite ball skills at the moment, but he is an exciting player who does have a future in the NFL. The Bears need an impact player or two at cornerback and Stewart has the upside to become that player.
