Chicago White Sox: Updated ranking of the top 15 prospects
4. Luis Robert, OF
The Chicago White Sox may have struck gold when they signed star international prospect Luis Robert out of Cuba. This 19-year-old phenom has played alongside Yoan Moncada with the Cuban national team and he is currently one of the most exciting talents in minor league baseball.
Robert is currently playing center field down in rookie ball, but he has the capability to play anywhere in the outfield. Robert could be the center of the future outfield with the White Sox, as it looks to be Robert, Rutherford and Eloy Jimenez. We will talk about Jimenez shortly.
Robert is a big-time talent who has great speed and a very good bat. Robert does have a lot of swing and miss in his game, but with the proper time to develop and the proper coaching, Robert will have plenty of time to work out the kinks.
I would like to see Robert cut down the strikeouts and be patient at the plate. The sky is the limit for this kid if he truly takes the time to work on his flaws, and there isn’t many of those. Robert will be around for a long time if he can do these things and the White Sox will have themselves a stud in the outfield.
