4. Terrance Ferguson, Adelaide (Australia)

Position: Shooting Guard

After taking a look at a rock-solid college player to kick this off, let’s take a look at a possible Bulls’ target with a low floor but a high ceiling.

Terrance Ferguson was one of the top recruits in the nation ahead of the 2016/17 season. Despite committing to Alabama and later Arizona, Ferguson decided to skip the college game, instead opting to play for the Adelaide 36ers in Australia.

More from Chicago Bulls

Ferguson adapted to the Australian game well, playing an important role off of the bench for his team throughout the season. However, his game and body were clearly not ready for a full-time role in professional basketball. Ferguson had limited playing time last season and his numbers are not worth getting excited about. That being said, it is still easy to see the upside here.

His biggest strength as a player is clearly his ability to spot up and shoot. Ferguson can be a deadly three-point marksman and is a strong mid-range shooter as well. He can create space for himself without the ball in his hands and shows a smooth shooting stroke that should translate well to the next level.

While his ball handling skills are currently lacking, Ferguson is an athletic player who shows an ability to finish well around the basket. He lacks the strength to consistently compete inside but with a bit more bulk added to his frame, Ferguson would likely become a threat to score off of the drive soon.

He is also an extremely unselfish player who typically makes the necessary extra pass. Ferguson’s slight frame will get him into trouble defensively in the NBA but he shows decent man-to-man skills on the perimeter, doing a nice job of using his natural size and length to his advantage.

Ferguson is an extremely raw player who will not be ready to play a major role in the NBA as a rookie. That being said, he is a potentially knock down outside shooter who has impressive overall upside. Simply put, the Chicago Bulls need to find more outside shooting. While Ferguson is far from perfect, he certainly brings that skill set to the table. Ferguson should be on the radar for the Bulls at number 16.
